Abstract:The article is devoted to the study of the intensity of the interactions areas of agglomerations in a number of key areas. We ground the necessity of using such a metric as the gross domestic product of metropolitan for the purpose of calculation of level and dynamics of development of agglomerations. The article revealed a direct relationship between integration and balance of socio-economic processes of agglomeration identified four stages. The author rationalized that the qualitative interpretation of the imbalances, therefore, the assessment of agglomeration depending on certain settings may be different, which leads to a “compression“ or even the disintegration of the Metropolitan area. Problems of intensity of fields of interactions considered by the author on the example of specific tourist agglomeration.
